Hypnotherapy

What Is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy utilizes the relaxed state to go to the origin of habits and patterns locked into the subconscious.  As infants we had only two fears – the fear of falling and the fear of loud noises.  Every other fear has been learned.  Additionally, when we were growing up, we made decisions to take care of ourselves in different ways.  Sometimes, those decisions resulted in behaviors that cause problems for us as grown-ups today.  For example, a child might decide that his or her feelings are not important after an abusive episode with a parent.  This decision may grow into a belief that his or her only value is in achieving some objective in life such as a career, financial success or social status.  These are appropriate goals unless they interfere with a person’s family life either emotionally or physically such as what happens with a workaholic who is not home a lot and has trouble connecting emotionally with family members.

Hypnotherapy enables a person to get to the root of problems like this and do the healing work necessary to restore emotional health.  Symptoms of depression, anxiety, addictions and low self esteem all have one common denominator – they have a root cause where decisions were made about the self and behaviors were adapted that were reasonable at the time they were made but cause problems today.  Additionally, with a hypnotherapist, clients learn to connect to resource states that strengthen the psyche.  Deep inner reserves of wisdom and calm are maintained as one learns to face and heal even the most difficult traumas.

In research, hypnotherapy has been shown to be more effective than other forms of therapy.  According to American Health Magazine clients engaged in hypnotherapy experienced a 93% recovery rate, which is a much higher rate than those who used psychoanalysis or behavior therapy.  Because approximately 90% of our minds use the sub-conscious in automatic decisions, hypnotherapy is more effective in healing the underlying issues that support such problems as bad habits, addictions, depression and anxiety.

You can learn to harness the power of your mind with hypnosis.  You can learn how to focus your mind on the results you desire.

What Does It Feel Like To Be Hypnotized?

The experience of being hypnotized is similar to the experience of relaxing and starting to fall asleep.  It is deeply relaxing and the person can hear and sense everything that is going on in the room.  Your mind is active, your thoughts are under your own control, you perceive stimuli, and you are in complete communication with the therapist.
